Embed links let you share any published document as a public URL or iframe — no Steppd account required to view it. Use embed links to surface SOPs and process docs in tools like HubSpot, ClickUp, Notion, or any platform that accepts iframes.
1

Open the Embed dialog

From My documents, hover over a published document and click ⋯ → Embed. Alternatively, open the published document view and click Embed in the top bar.
2

Generate a link

If no embed link exists yet, click Create embed link. Steppd generates a unique, tokenized URL for the document.

Copy the URL or iframe snippet

Once an embed link exists, the Embed dialog shows two ready-to-use fields:
FieldWhat it gives you
Embed URLA direct link to the public read-only view. Share this link anywhere.
iframe snippetA complete <iframe src="…" width="100%" height="600" frameborder="0" allow="fullscreen"> tag ready to paste into any webpage or tool that accepts HTML embeds.
Click the copy icon next to either field to copy it to your clipboard. Use Reset link when you want to revoke access to the current URL and replace it with a new one — for example, if a link was shared with the wrong audience.
Resetting generates a new token and immediately invalidates the old URL. Any existing embeds or shared links using the old URL will stop working and show a 404 error.
  1. In the Embed dialog, click Reset link.
  2. A warning appears: “Resetting will break any existing embeds using the old link.”
  3. Click Reset link again to confirm. A new token is generated.
Click Remove link (trash icon) in the Embed dialog to delete the embed token entirely. Anyone who visits the old URL will see a 404 error. The Dashboard lists all embed links your organization has created under Shareable links. Click the copy icon on any row to copy the embed URL directly, without opening the document.
